Turning 30 unearthed some of the most tumultuous soul-searching feelings, I’ve ever felt.
I experienced sadness, grief, and doubt, but ultimately landed with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Gratitude that stemmed from deep reflection. Within that reflection, I began to think about the mantras that have guided my path.
On one hand it’s the biggest milestone birthday in nearly a decade, which is great, but it also forces you to recon with who you’ve come to be.
So, here they are (in no particular order). I invite you to read them and let me know if they resonate, are similar to ones that have helped you, and most importantly where they differ.
- Make your happiness a priority
- Love often, and freely
- Don’t be so hard on yourself
- You know yourself best
- Life is marathon, not a sprint
- Words are powerful
- Thoughts drive your reality
- Getting old is a choice
- You’re your biggest critic
- Every friendship serves a purpose
- Fail often, but learn from it
- Live regret free
- Forgive on your own time
- Put yourself first
- Remember who’s there when in hard times
- Everything is an opportunity to learn
- Embrace your pain
- Love your flaws
- Give yourself grace
- Live through a lens of self-care
- Celebrate milestones (all of them)
- Hold on to reciprocity
- Take naps in the sun (safely), better yet take naps (period)
- Listen to your body
- Seek joy
- Do what you can while you can
- Focusing on today takes care of tomorrow
- Sing your own praises
- Laugh at yourself
- Que Será, Será

This was so easy to read. Thank you for sharing ❤️
I like #7 and often think about that.
